Dr. Ali Ghaffarinejad: Targeting Scientists is a Tool to Intimidate and Halt Scientific Progress
Dr. Ali Ghaffarinejad, a faculty member of the School of Chemistry at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), has issued a statement calling on acade both within Iran and abroad to actively participate in the International Conference for “Rising of the Wise against Sophicide”.
Dr. Ghaffarinejad denounced the actions of the “usurper Zionist regime,” specifically the assassination of valuable scientists, classifying these acts as a clear instance of “rising against sophicide” (the killing of knowledge or wisdom). He asserted that the regime’s aim is to intimidate scholars and prevent their entry into vital scientific fields, thereby attempting to halt scientific progress in freedom-seeking nations like Iran.
“These assassinations and acts of barbarism are intended to instill fear in those who wish to follow in the footsteps of those scientists,” Dr. Ghaffarinejad stated, adding, “However, this is a futile fantasy. With our commitment to patriotism and our belief in freedom and liberty, we will forcefully continue this path. These blind terror attacks will have no impact on our progress.”
He urged colleagues and academics to attend the event, expressing hope that the conference will serve as a platform to amplify the academic voice globally and further expose and highlight the “great crime of the Zionists,” thus achieving a significant positive impact on an international level.
The International Conference for “Rising of the Wise against Sophicide,” focusing on combating the legitimization of scientist assassinations and removing intimidation from the scientific environment, will be held on October 9th (17th of Mehr) at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM) in Tehran.
