Dr. Minaei: The Enemy Targets Our Religion and Knowledge; Martyred Scientists are Models of Combining ‘Science, Piety, and Jihad’/IUST Computer Professor Calls for “Rising Against Sophicide” Conference

Dr. Behrouz Minaei, Professor of Computer and Artificial Intelligence at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), announced his support for the International Conference for “Rising of the Wise against Sophicide” and emphasized that the assassination of nuclear scientists is evidence that the enemy is targeting both the country’s religion and its knowledge.

Citing the statements of the Supreme Leader, Dr. Minaei asserted that the enemy, particularly within the academic environment, is the “enemy of our religion and our knowledge,” and the combination of these two elements holds amplified importance in the academic community. He referenced the Holy Quran, identifying the three core axes of value as Knowledge (Science), Piety (Taqwa) (Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous [pious] of you), and Jihad (Allah has favored the striving ones over the sedentary with a great reward).

The IUST professor characterized the targeted scientists as individuals who embodied all three of these components: “Those who were targeted were usually individuals who combined their nuclear knowledge with Jihad against the enemy and with self-vigilance and piety; meaning they integrated the two axes of religion and knowledge.”

Dr. Minaei cited the martyrs such as Fakhrizadeh, Tehrani Moghaddam, and Ahmadi Roshan as prime examples and models who excelled in all three dimensions (Science, Piety, Jihad).

Regarding the impact of the martyrdom of these elites, despite the great loss to the country’s body, he stated: “It is true that their absence inflicts a great loss and damage on the body of the country… but these martyrdoms create the conditions for the acceptance of such an achievement—which comes with hardship and economic deprivation—to be resolved for our society among the general public.”

Dr. Minaei pointed to the public solidarity against the enemy’s recent attacks, adding: “With the enemy’s attack, they expected that some people would protest due to economic problems, [but instead] everyone became harmonious, united, and outspoken against the enemy.”

He concluded that the purpose of the “Rising Against Sophicide” conference is to protest and act against the assassination of nuclear scientists and those who contributed to the country’s progress and the introduction of this technology.

The International Conference for “Rising of the Wise against Sophicide,” focusing on combating the legitimization of scientist assassinations and removing intimidation from the scientific environment, will be held on October 9th (17th of Mehr) at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM) in Tehran.
