Iran University of Science and Technology Professor Urges: Be the Voice of the Scientific Community’s Protest Against the Assassination of Scientists Globally

Dr. Mirsaman Pishvaee, a professor at the School of Industrial Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), referred to the wave of scientists assassinations in various countries by the “System of Domination” (or “Hegemonic System”). He labeled these actions a new generation of barbarism and “Inquisition,” calling on the scientific community to break its silence against these crimes.

Dr. Pishvaee stated that in recent years, the “assault and assassination of scientists and researchers in technological fields” have been pursued in countries such as Iran, Iraq, Syria, and some African nations, declaring:

“We are witnessing an uprising against knowledge in non-Western countries. The System of Domination and Western Civilization have started a campaign against this knowledge in other nations.”

Call for an End to the Monopoly of Science and Knowledge

The university professor drew a parallel with the historical period of the “Inquisition” in pre-Renaissance Europe, where scientists were executed for conflicting views with the ruling powers, emphasizing:

“We are currently observing a new generation of that Inquisition being imposed on scientifically developing countries by the System of Domination. Worse, these assassinations take place without any trial, and many of these individuals have been targeted and assassinated next to or along with their families.”

A Call to Shout Against Barbarism

Dr. Pishvaee concluded by urging all his scientific colleagues in universities across Iran and the world not to remain silent about these events:

> “As a small member of the scientific community of the country and the world, I request all my dear colleagues, faculty members in various universities, to be a voice, to be a shout against this barbarism that Western Civilization is imposing on different countries… so that, God willing, we can create a movement against this disgraceful act.”

He also considered the right to benefit from science and technology as the **natural right of all human beings, calling monopolization and the creation of undue rent-seeking in this field one of the greatest injustices against humanity. He added: “No human right is more obligatory to uphold than this right to knowledge, because knowledge will be the other side of capability in the future.”

It is worth noting that the international conference “Uprising Against the Sophicide” will be held in Tehran on October 9th at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences, focusing on combating the legitimization of scientist assassinations and removing intimidation from the scientific atmosphere.
