K. N. Toosi Mechanical Engineering Faculty Member Calls for “Rising Against Sophicide” / Dr. Karmazdi: Assassinating Scientists is a Clear Violation of Academic Freedom by Claimants of Liberty / ‘The Infidel Thinks Everyone Else is Like Him’

Dr. Mohsen Karmazdi, a faculty member of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology (KNTU), severely criticized the assassination of scientists by powers championing “freedom.” He stressed the necessity for the assembly of elites to react to these atrocities at the International Conference for “Rising of the Wise against Sophicide.”

Dr. Karmazdi addressed the concept of freedom championed by the West, stating: “The world, with the slogan of freedom, has trampled all values and plunged the world into blood and soil. The minimum freedom is in thought, intellect, and scientific research.” He added that despite this, certain individuals are condemned to assassination—the worst punishment—merely for conducting scientific research in common fields of study.

The KNTU professor questioned the underlying motivation for accusing Iran of misusing knowledge, asking: “Is there any scientific field that we can say cannot be misused?” He attributed the accusations against Iran regarding the misuse of nuclear science to the attackers’ own mentality, saying: “We Persians have a proverb: ‘The infidel thinks everyone else is like him.’ Because they themselves pursue corruption, warmongering, and mass killing in all scientific knowledge, they accuse us of wanting nuclear knowledge for mass murder.”

Dr. Karmazdi emphasized Iran’s academic history, noting: “Our history and record show that we have always pursued knowledge, but not warmongering.”

He concluded by asserting that the perpetrators of the assassinations will never reach their goals: “They might be able to destroy the bodies of individuals, but thought, intellect, and wisdom cannot be killed.” He warned that the assembly of elites must absolutely react to this issue, “otherwise, it is unknown what knowledge or what individuals they will target next.”

The International Conference for “Rising of the Wise against Sophicide,” focusing on combating the legitimization of scientist assassinations and removing intimidation from the scientific environment, will be held on October 9th (17th of Mehr) at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM) in Tehran.
