Khajeh Nasir Toosi University Professor Calls for Participation in “Rising of the Wise Against Sophicide” Conference

Dr. Shahani: Scientist Assassinations are Imperialism’s Tool to Keep Nations Weak and a Sign of Defeat Against Iran’s Scientific Progress

Dr. Amirreza Shahani, Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology, analyzed the assassination of Iranian scientists and university professors within the framework of the West’s “arrogant and imperialistic nature,” inviting academics to attend the International Conference for “Rising of the Wise against Sophicide.”

Referencing the intellectual foundations of Western civilization, including the views of Will Durant, Dr. Shahani stated that imperialistic nations deem themselves justified in keeping other countries weak to access their resources, and the most crucial way to maintain this weakness is to deny access to science, as “science brings domination, power, and capability.”

He emphasized that Iran’s scientific advancements following the Islamic Revolution, particularly in the military, defense, and nuclear sectors, have caused severe concern among adversaries: “What happened in Islamic Iran after the Revolution was that, thank God, we developed and progressed in the field of science… The very assassination of nuclear scientists shows that we have progressed well in that area, which has caused concern for the enemy.”

The Khajeh Nasir professor viewed the military attacks and the assassination of scientists as a response to the West’s inability to tolerate Iran’s advancements. He remarked: “Western countries, the US, have made their scientific development a source of pride for themselves and a factor of humiliation for other countries… Now that Islamic Iran has progressed in missile, drone, and nuclear fields due to the Revolution, they can no longer tolerate it and have resorted to direct military attack, although we previously saw these assassinations carried out by their agent [the Zionist regime] in the region.”

Dr. Shahani concluded that the enemies will not succeed in stopping Iran’s progress. He stressed that Iran will continue its scientific development path within a divine framework, and will not seek the “satanic domination over other countries” that the Western powers have established.

The International Conference for “Rising of the Wise against Sophicide,” focusing on combating the legitimization of scientist assassinations and removing intimidation from the scientific environment, will be held on October 9th (17th of Mehr) at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM) in Tehran.
