Scientific Community Opposes Monopolism; Dr. Fattahian Stresses the Necessity of Delegitimizing Scientist Assassinations

On the eve of the international conference” ‘Scholars’ Rise Against Sophicide’ “, Dr. Mohammad Fattahian, a professor at the School of Electrical Engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology, stated that the main goal of this gathering is to seriously confront ideologies that legitimize the assassination of scientists.

Today (Wednesday, October 1st), Dr. Fattahian, referring to the conference being held on October 9th at the Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences, clarified: “The primary objective of this conference is to counter the ideologies that unfortunately essentially legitimize the assassination of scientists and justify this ominous and inhumane phenomenon.”

The university professor mentioned that another key goal of this international summit is to combat scientific monopolism, adding: “The approach that some nations should not gain access to specific knowledge, and that this scientific monopolism is justified, must be seriously challenged.”

Dr. Fattahian emphasized: “The ‘Scholars’ Rise Against Sophicide’ conference seeks to create a unified voice from the world’s scientific communities against this ominous phenomenon and declare that the global scientific community and scientists are strongly against this approach and condemn this phenomenon.”

He concluded by expressing hope that this conference, with the presence of domestic and foreign professors and scientists both in-person and online, will achieve its goals, enabling knowledge to be at the disposal of all nations and scientific monopolism to be abolished.
