Vice President for Humanities and Arts of Islamic Azad University Calls for Participation in “Rising of the Wise Against Sophicide” Conference
Dr. Homayoun: Assassination of Scientists Signifies Colonialism’s Retreat to Military Tactics and the Failure of Western Media and Knowledge Power
Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Homayoun, Vice President for Humanities and Arts of Islamic Azad University (IAU) (appointed by Dr. Shahid Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi), issued a significant statement inviting scholars and academics to attend the International Conference for “Rising of the Wise against Sophicide.” He characterized the assassination of scientists as a sign of a shift in Western grand colonial policies, marking a retreat from media and knowledge-based tools.
Dr. Homayoun stated that until recently, the peak of the Western civilization’s colonial power was centered on media and knowledge flow, leading to the belief that the “era of military attack had virtually ended.” However, he believes events like the invasion of Iraq, followed by the assassination of scientists, and the targeting of media centers, signal a change in the epoch of grand colonial policies.
The Vice President pointed to historical acts of violence against centers of enlightenment and science: “After the occupation of Iraq and Baghdad, we had the assassination of scientists, quite similar to what we have now experienced in Iran with this Zionist criminal gang—both our broadcasting building was hit and our scientists were martyred.”
He stressed that these actions indicate the emergence of an alternative flow of “genuine civilization-building knowledge” and “supportive media” that can play a role in a “global uprising,” effectively pushing the media and knowledge flow of Western civilization and the Zionist gang to the periphery.
Dr. Homayoun noted that in countering this alternative flow, the West and the Zionist gang have reverted to the military and terror period: “To assassinate one scientist, they carry out a heavy military operation similar to war. This shows that we have moved past the era of media and knowledge, and fortunately, knowledge has found its place. This awareness will, God willing, advance until the era of the Appearance.”
He concluded by emphasizing the occurrence of a “historical turning point and civilizational transition” globally, calling on scholars and colleagues to fulfill their role: “The greatest burden will fall upon the scholars of an era and a period who are experiencing and implementing such a transformation… God willing, after the serious establishment of the New Islamic Civilization, we will all be proud that we had a share in this movement.”
