They deploy advanced weaponry to execute scientists. By weaponizing access to private personal data, they transform everyday devices into instruments of targeted assassination. The perpetrators? The very powers who, for decades, have postured as the architects of a global order founded on "freedom of information" and "technological progress," all while professing to uphold international security and peace. These self-proclaimed champions of liberal science now, upon witnessing an Iranian scholar shatter their technological monopoly, respond not with discourse, but with a military deployment. They assassinate the esteemed president of West Asia's premier university—a man of principle—along with his family in their own home, a blatant act that lays bare the utter hypocrisy of their past espousals of academic liberty.
The World Conference on Countering Science Terrorism and Monopolization (October 09, 2025) entitled "Rising of Scholars Against Sophicide" has launched its call for its holding on September 09, 2025.
Considering the very important issue of the security and peace of scientists and scholars, all interested professors and researchers are invited to participate in this conference, either by attending online or, preferably, presenting papers and lectures.
The Global Conference on Countering Terrorism and Scientific Monopoly," which was previously announced on September 09, 2025, will be held on October 9, 2025. This event, with the presence of international professors, researchers, and intellectuals, is an opportunity for scientific dialogue and synergy in order to protect the freedom of knowledge, confront hegemonic policies, and promote inter-university cooperation.

The Institute for Research in Fundamental Sciences (IPM) is an institution affiliated with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology that was founded in 1989 as the "Theoretical Physics and Mathematics Research Center" and has been operating under its current name since 1997. The main goal of this institute from its inception has been to advance modern research in basic sciences, to set a model for promoting research culture in the country, and to enhance Iran's scientific standing in the global arena.
The institute began its work with a few small research nuclei and is now one of the prestigious scientific centers in the region, with nine research centers in the fields of mathematics, physics, computer science, nanoscience, life sciences, cognitive sciences, analytical philosophy, quantum physics, and astronomy. The institute's infrastructure includes specialized laboratories, an advanced communication network, up-to-date libraries, and active collaborations with international scientific centers.
Among the important achievements of the research institute are the initiative to establish the Iranian Scientific and Research Network (IRANAT), the management of national projects such as the National Observatory of Iran and the National Accelerator, as well as extensive collaborations with prominent institutions such as CERN.
Today, the Institute for Basic Sciences, with its dynamic management and independent research units, is not only a leader in producing authoritative scientific articles and international citations, but also a national model for research management and creating a platform for nurturing the next generation of scientists. As the host and organizing organization of the "World Conference on Countering Terrorism and Scientific Monopoly", this center plays a special role in strengthening scientific discourse and international cooperation.
This conference has been convened in response to the blatant military attacks and assassinations of scientists by the Zionist regime, to reject scientific monopoly and defend the free advancement of knowledge for the betterment of human life.
